Two New VWL Positions
Two VWL team members were promoted this month! Erin Shibley now serves as Program Manager and Lead of Biodiversity Monitoring, guiding the team’s community science surveys that document species across private working lands. Justin Proctor stepped into the role of Conservation Biologist and Lead of Strategic Partnerships, expanding collaborations throughout the VWL network.

VWL is seeking contract support for Henslow’s Sparrow Monitoring Program!
The contractor will serve as the primary field lead for a coordinated grassland bird monitoring project focused on Henslow’s Sparrow (Centronyx henslowii) on private working lands in Fauquier County, Virginia. Responsibilities include planning and executing daily field operations; coordinating access and maintaining professional communication with participating landowners; and implementing standardized monitoring protocols to document occupancy, breeding phenology, and habitat associations.
