We are excited to share The Farm Beneath Our Feet, a film series exploring the science that happens across working lands, from the pasture to the lab. Throughout the series, Smithsonian researchers and farmers work together to ask practical questions about soil, plants, animals, and the microbes that connect them. Episodes move between the field and the lab, showing how samples collected on real farms are analyzed using genomic tools. The series was shot and edited by VWL Communication Specialist Brooke McDonough and is available to watch online now!
Virginia Grassland Bird Initiative core partners, with the support of VA Cooperative Extension, released a new 2-page resource that showcases the myriad benefits of diversifying forages for beef cattle, with an emphasis on cattle health and wildlife conservation
