Citizen Science

Citizen scientists are the core of VWL, supporting our research through field surveys and enhancing our collective impact as local ambassadors of biodiversity conservation.

To date, VWL has trained more than 150 volunteers in survey protocols and species identification. Collectively these volunteers have contributed more than 15,000 hours for conservation research. Not only has this contributed to one of the most extensive biological databases for private lands held in the state, but the species they have documented for our property reports have been the foundation of conservation inspiration for participating landowners throughout the region.
