WATERFORD CRAFT SCHOOL WORKSHOPS

September 07, 2019, September 07, 2019 09:00 am - 05:00 pm
Location: Sky Meadows State Park, Edmonds Lane 11012, Delaplane, Virginia

Sky Meadows State Park will host the Waterford Craft School for two unique events: Introduction to Splint Seat Weaving and Introduction to Herbal Remedies.  At the Splint Seat Weaving workshop, participants will join weaver Pamela Foster, whose work can be seen in Colonial Williamsburg and the Loudoun Museum, to learn about the materials and preparation, as well as origins, history and preservation of woven seats. Bring any size frame and leave with a finished seat. Cost is $175 for the class and $20 for the materials. Registration is required. Students must bring their own frame.

Participants of the Herbal Remedies Workshop will join Jessica Baker, owner of Dayspring Farm in Loudoun County and Juried Artisan with the Waterford Foundation for this three-hour, hands-on workshop. This introduction class will help open up the world of herbal remedies so you can begin to keep your household healthy and build, rather than suppress, your immune system. You will make a few easy remedies to take home with you and learn about some gentle, yet effective herbs that can be used often.  Cost is $95. Registration is required.
