WEBINAR Soil Health: From Properties to Function
During this webinar presented by the USDA NRCS Soil Health Division, Dr. Amelie Gaudin, Assistant professor at the University of California Davis, will share results from an ongoing research project that is quantifying the ability of good soil health to mitigate both abiotic (drought) and biotic stresses (insect pests).
There is growing interest to develop more targeted and relevant soil health indicators for target environments. However, ecosystem services provided by soils are seldom part of assessment framework, and the potential of healthy soils to build stress resilience remains unclear. This webinar will discuss the impacts of shifts in soil health for water use efficiency and resilience to both abiotic and biotic stresses in California tomato production systems and discuss some of the underlying drivers and mechanism.
