Journal Sketching

April 13, 2019, April 13, 2019 01:00 pm - 03:00 pm
Location: The Clifton Institute, 6712 Blantyre Road, Warrenton, Virginia

Sketching in a journal can be a fun way of recording your travel or hiking experiences.  Taught by Armand Cabera, this class will focus on basic techniques for sketching in pen and pencil. Participants will be shown fundamental methods that can, with continued practice, lead to successfully drawing anything through direct observation. Cost $10 per person, at the door. Registration required.

Armand will demo and describe how to start a drawing. He will then work with students to help them apply the information to their images. Students will receive lots of individual attention. Much more intimate than a photo, journal sketches are a great, low-tech way of capturing memories. This class will be a relaxed, noncompetitive environment with personal instruction, geared towards the aptitude of each participant. No previous artistic experience is necessary. Ages 18+

Cost: $10 per registered attendee, at the door; to register please visit the Clifton Institute's web page: https://cliftoninstitute.org/evrplus_registration/?action=evrplusegister&event_id=79
